Work Experience

We can offer school or college pupils (aged 14-18) from west Wales looking for work experience placements for one or two weeks, whether this is a formal part of your curriculum or you are just looking to contribute to marine conservation and gain new skills.

We can also support 14-18 year olds who wish to volunteer regularly on weekends and during school holidays. Volunteering is a great way to gain valuable experience and skills to develop your CV whether you’re looking to attend university or gain employment.

Working alongside our Living Seas Team you will be involved in all aspects of our research and engagement work and will be asked to complete a work experience diary during your time with us.

Tasks Include:

  • Land based surveys
  • Boat based surveys (subject to parental/school approval and weather conditions)
  • Data entry
  • Helping to run our visitor centre, providing information to visitors
  • Helping with engagement events such as marine craft sessions
  • Beach cleans

All tasks are fully risked assessed and we have appropriate insurance to cover all activities.

To Apply:

Please fill in a CBMWC Work Experience Application Form form and email it to info@cbmwc.org. Forms must be filled out by the candidate, not parents or guardians. A reference from a teacher will need to be sent to the same email address.
