Connie has been photographed regularly since 2005 and can be identified by the distinct pattern of nicks down her dorsal fin. In 2007 Connie became a mum, giving birth to a lively calf (238) known affectionately as Gwanwyn (Welsh for spring). Gwanwyn has since left her mother’s side and Connie gave birth to another calf in 2014. Fin (673) is a verily lively calf and is often seen vigorously tail slapping the water. The pair are frequent visitors to New Quay harbour bay where they forage and socialise alone and with other dolphins. Connie has also been seen further down the Ceredigion coastline by our boat based researchers.
