Adopt a Cardigan Bay Dolphin Cadfael
Adopt a CBMWC Cardigan Bay Dolphin - Cadfael

Cardigan Bay Bottlenose dolphin Cadfael

Often seen leaping and splashing around in pursuit of fish or bow riding our survey boat, Cadfael (meaning warrior prince in Welsh) has a very distinct dorsal fin and is easily identifiable in the field. Often spotted around New Quay headland and harbour area and Mwnt, he has also been photographed at the far reaches of the Cardigan Bay Special Area of Conservation. Known as one of the larger bottlenose dolphins regularly seen in Cardigan Bay with a very well marked dorsal fin, we believe Cadfael is a male dolphin. Known as a bit of a flirt, he is often seen with some of our well-known female dolphins including Nick (015), Alannah (026) and Marissa (177).
