Two Bottlenose dolphins (a mother and calf) were sighted foraging on the New Quay headland at 10:03, with an associated gannet nearby. Two Atlantic grey seals were sighted in the course of the survey, with one female seen at 10:20 hauled out on the rocks by Carreg Draenog and another spotted in the water at 11:32 halfway between Castell Bach and Trwyn Crou. Two further Bottlenose dolphins (both adults this time) were sighted travelling and bow-riding on the offshore leg of the trip near Carreg Draenog at 11:52.

At 13:23 there was a sighting of two Bottlenose dolphins near New Quay harbour, these animals exhibiting a number of behaviours including foraging and leaping, as well as travelling in a westerly direction. Two dolphins were again seen foraging at 13:54 closer to Carreg Draenog.

One adult Bottlenose dolphin was sighted foraging on the New Quay headland at 14:21. No further sightings were reported until 15:46 when approximately three dolphins were seen further offshore from Carreg Draenog making close contact with one another on the surface of the water, then travelling in a north-westerly direction. One further dolphin was spotted foraging by the New Quay harbour wall at 15:52.

Atlantic grey seals were the species most frequently sighted on this survey, with one seen bobbing in the water at 16:25 south-west of Carreg Draenog, another (a female) seen at 16:57 past Trwyn Crou and a further female sighted at 17:03 near Ynes Lochtyn. On the return journey, two more Bottlenose dolphins (one adult and one juvenile) were spotted foraging further offshore from Carreg Draenog.
